This I Believe
This is an opportunity for people of all ages to write a short three-minute essay expressing one core belief or value that they have chosen to live by. This I Believe encourages others to listen and share beliefs that are different from their own. Dan Gediman once said, “The goal is not to persuade Americans to agree on the same beliefs. Rather, the hope is to encourage people to begin the much more difficult task of developing respect for beliefs different from their own.” This competition is ongoing and supports the idea that one can learn something from anyone’s life experiences, no matter what age they are.
