- This will be held on October 26th, 6:30-8 p.m.
- Banned Book Movie Night
- This event will be coordinated by Sydney Rossman.

- Lancer Candy Lane
- This event will be coordinated by Tory Spruill.
- This will be held on December 10th, 2016.
- Every year, NEHS organizes for Lancer Candy Lane visitors to write letters to Santa. Stay tuned for information through Remind 101 and emails.
- NEHS Scholarship Book Talk
- This event will be coordinated by Grace Weaver.
- This year's book is Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant. NEHS (the national program) sponsors a scholarship essay contest. Our book talk will discuss the novel and the scholarship essay topics. In honor of Anne Tyler's novel, Linganore NEHS will be hosting our own potluck of home-cooked meals.
- Spelling Bee
- This event will be coordinated by Grace Williams.
- Will be held immediately after school from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- In conjunction with the Academic Team and staff, NEHS will hold a spelling bee. You can be a participant or a spectator. Expect a lot of laughter. The prize is a jar of honey. Details TBA.
- NEHS/NMHS Scavenger Hunt
- This event will be coordinated by Emma Wynkoop.
- This will be held probably some time in March, but date TBA. Time 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Teams of two (one NEHS, one NMHS) will hunt for a hidden prize (and pizza) by solving math and English-related clues.
- Pen Pals Project
- This event will be coordinated by Tory Spruill.
- This will be held in March. Participants will be assigned to an elementary student, and you will write letters back and forth.
- An optional visit is a part of this service event. Usually, all the other NEHS students who have participated in the project will visit their pen pals together. This means leaving LHS after first period and returning after PREP.
- Students who participate in the Pen Pals project MUST commit to the project and stick with it to the end. It would be extremely disappointing if a NEHS student didn't fulfill his or her obligation and his or her elementary buddy didn't get a letter while the rest of the class did.
- Check your email for details later in the year.
- Poetry on the Sidewalk
- This event will be coordinated by Courtney Green.
- This event will be held on March 31 or April 1 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., weather depending.
- We will be writing our favorite poems on the sidewalks around the school.
